If you're heading toward Atlanta this weekend, plan around I-285. The Georgia Department of Transportation closed all lanes between Camp Creek Parkway and Langford Parkway at 7 p.m. Friday. Crews will mill and grind concrete until the lanes reopen Monday at 5 a.m.

is telling drivers to use routes along I-20 and the downtown connector, and we suggest leaving extra time. The closures are part of a project along seven miles of I-285 from Collier Drive in Fulton County to Paces Ferry Road in Cobb County.

A new Cobb study finds housing, transit and health problems show up in the same neighborhoods

A new study unveiled Friday showed that issues with housing, transit, childcare, healthcare and economic opportunities tend to appear together in the same communities across Cobb County.

If you're keeping track of gym options around Kennesaw, the picture is shifting. ToNeTo Atlanta confirmed LA Fitness will close its Midtown Atlanta gym at Tech Square on Dec. 28 at 2 p.m. The chain's Barrett Parkway gym in Kennesaw closed as of Dec. 18, 2025, and its Roswell Road gym in East Cobb closed as of July 20, 2026.
